Fiona Coulthard was the
first Aboriginal person to obtain a Certificate as
Master Trainer in Chronic Disease Self
Management, in 2004.

Implementation
of EPC items through EPC Nurse.
PWHS successfully implemented an
infrastructure refresh of its computer systems, which was
funded by State Government.

Memorandum
of Understandings have been achieved between Northern and Far
Western Division of GP’s, CYHS &
Spencer Gulf
Rural
Health
School
and Caring
Communities Project.
In
an effort to provide a better and more timely service, Pika Wiya
Health Service opted to centralize its client database.
Pika Wiya’s Information, Communications Technology Services
section, in collaboration with the Department of Health, identified,
prioritised and prepared business cases with a focus of migrating to
a Thin Client Terminal Server Farm solution for its data management.
This included upgrades to LAN
and WAN environments
for its Outreach Clinics. The
new infrastructure, with some further enhancements and accurate
input of client data, will give medical staff the ability to keep
tabs on all treatments regardless of where they occur.
