Purpose of the Pika Wiya Health Service
Inc.
To comprehensively service our region and to be a voice that
supports all Aboriginal Health Services and that advocates and
fosters improvements in the health sector for all of our people.
The context of Pika Wiya Health Service's mandate not only extends
to the promotion and delivery of primary health care
principles/services but also the responsibility as an advocate and
champion for closing the gap that exists between Aboriginal and
Torres Strait Islander peoples and the wider Australian
community.
We aim to advance Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
social, spiritual, cultural and economic status and pursue better
outcomes for our community, encompassing all aspects of primary
health care.
